Why Is My BMW A/C Not Blowing Cold Air? Common Causes & Fixes (2026)

WHY IS MY A/C NOT BLOWING COLD AIR?

It’s the first day of summer, you turn on your BMW and the A/C is unable to keep you cool on a hot summer day. It happens more than we like, but why?

Here are some of the common reasons why your A/C is not as cold as it used to be:

Refrigerant Levels

It is possible that your A/C has run out of refrigerant. Bring your vehicle to our BMW Certified Technicians to have your refrigerant levels checked and to have your system recharged as needed. They can also check for leaks and suggest necessary repairs.

Faulty A/C Compressor

Sometimes, an electrical fault can damage the compressor’s circuit, rendering the A/C system non-operational.

A/C Fan

If you hear the A/C compressor churning, but there is no air blowing through the car, then the issue could lie with your fan.

Your vehicle’s A/C system can be complicated, but a BMW Certified Technician can easily diagnose any problem and replace or fix the faulty part. We only use original BMW parts to replace malfunctioning components and fix all issues that stop your car’s A/C from keeping you cool.
