DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR CABIN AIR FILTER NEEDS REPLACEMENT?

The cabin air filter (also known as a microfilter) is responsible for filtering out pollutants before they reach the inside of your BMW's cabin.

BMW recommends changing out your air filter every 20K miles. You might consider changing out your air filter sooner if you’ve experienced any of the below:

Signs your air filter is ready to be replaced:

  • Stale air in vehicle cabin
  • Smells (musty or earthy) when turning on the A/C
  • Increased cabin humidity or sudden condensation inside the cabin
  • Weak or poor flow from the air vents
  • Poor air conditioner performance during heating or cooling

If you notice any of the above, bring your BMW in for a quick evaluation. We’ll check your cabin air filter and determine if it needs replacement.
