3 WARNING SIGNS OF A DRAINED BATTERY
Car batteries need replacing every few years. Continuous cycles of charging-discharging-charging cause depletion in its plates over time. However, there are several key indicators that will help you determine if you need to replace your battery soon.
If you experience any difficulty with your BMW’s electrical system, it may be time for a battery replacement.
Longer Engine Start Times
A drained battery can make it difficult for the engine to turn over. As the key is turned in the ignition, your engine should start immediately. If you notice any gap of time between push-starting or turning the key, your battery efficiency may be reaching the end of its life.
Dimming Headlights
Dimmed headlights are a good indicator that your battery has reduced charge. Try turning on your vehicle in the early hours of the morning or night when it is dark. If you notice your headlights dim for a short time, then increase in brightness, it may be time for a battery replacement.
Only Dashboard Lights Work
If you try turning on your vehicle and only see the dashboard lights and notifications illuminated, your vehicle’s battery only has enough energy to power the display and nothing beyond that.
If your vehicle has started showing any of the signs of a drained battery, it’s a good idea to visit a BMW Certified Technician and determine if you need a replacement. Call now for an appointment and get your vehicle inspected.
